Thanks, Javad. I have a couple old FP relays I saved from the scrapyard for
emergencies -- I tested them satisfactorily in happier times. Perhaps I
should keep one in the trunk just in case. OR, just swap them out now...
I was pondering the possibility that the ignition switch might be on the way
out, since the weird trip computer clock shutdown that occurred when I
turned the ignition on coincided with the barely-running condition off the
road. But the clock *didn't* reset when I lost power on my test drive. Hmm.
Well, I'll see what happens the next time Mr. Intermittent Condition rears
his ugly head.
I'm at least pretty convinced that it's a fuel rather than ignition problem,
as the spark seems strong and the engine pulls well throughout the rpm
range.
