Ah, my bad, I was under the impression (having never been intimate with
one) that the thermostat was on the other side of the water pump, i.e.
requiring removal of water pump, timing belt, etc. in order to replace.
After going out and looking, I see now that is not the case, and I probably
ought to change my thermostat too since my heater isn't all that warm
either, if all I have to do is move the PS pump (20v) and drop the
coolant...my VW has had a more effective heater than my Audi for as long as
I have owned them.

Appreciate the correction, no wait, I was only kidding, yes that's it...
