Hi Aaron,
I did this the other weekend on my Coupe GT. It suddenly wasn't starting and I noticed the fuel pump was silent with the key on before cranking. Since the pump was new and I swapped in a different fuel pump relay, I figured it was the switch, and it was. The old switch was cracked right at its weak spot, just like they all seem to do.
You have to remove the wheel, and take the lock housing off. It's a bit of a pita. There are two conical washers under the wheel, that hold down a pretty strong spring under tension. I don't know "the right" way to take these washers off or put them back on. I would imagine you should replace them, but I never have. I usually end up buggering them up pretty good using some pliers to sort of squash them, or a flat screwdriver to persuade them off.
I gotta go, but yes, you have to take all that crap off to get to the phillips screw that holds the switch in from the back. I may write more later if it is necessary.
Later,
Ken

I didn't see anything in the Bentley about replacing the ignition switch,
but I did find a good bit in the Hayes. They say you must remove the
steering wheel and associated hardware to do it. I'm done for today since I
don't have the right size socket to remove the steering wheel. I can see
the back of the ignition switch, but the screw(s) that hold it in place look
like they're buried in the steering column somewhere. Any BTDT's?
