4ksq won't start

Okay, thanks for all the input on the towing problem. You've convinced me
that, unless I really do notice something out of the ordinary, I'm
probably okay.

Now, as for the car not starting. I was pulling into a parking spot when
the car just died, as if I'd turned off the key. No sputtering, no
warning ... just stiff steering as the power steering went out and the
various lights on the dash that come on with the ignition on but the car
not running. The car would not start immediately, or after about 45
minutes (after I went in and ate lunch). It'll crank and crank ... but
not fire. Not even one of that, "it's trying to start" sputtering or
anything.

About 45 minutes later (now 1.5 hours since it died), it started right up
when I tried it. I decided to try to drive it home. I got about .2 miles
down the road when I made a right turn. Clutch in, shift 3rd to 2nd,
notice that tach has dropped to zero (stalled again), clutch out and it
starts itself back up. Pulled into a parking lot, turned it off. Won't
start again. At this point, I give up and have it towed home.

Now, in the driveway, no dice. It won't start at all. I can hear the
fuel pump buzzing as normal ... so I'm sure that it's running. Seems to
me that that would rule out the pump and the pump relay (please correct me
if I'm wrong).

Just two days ago, I replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor. I
have not verified spark (or lack thereof) ... but will start there.
Assuming I do have spark, the symptoms lead me to believe it's a fuel
delivery problem. The fuel gauge reads 1/4 tank, and I have no reason to
doubt its accuracy. Of course, the odo doesn't work, so I guess I really
have no idea how many miles I have on this tank. I suppose I should dump
a couple gallons into the tank just to be sure that it does have fuel.

Any further suggestions would be much appreciated. I'm at my wit's end
with this thing. I was all set to sell it this weekend to a friend, but
now that it has stranded me (it never has before), I begin to doubt its
reliability.
