welding my exhaust manifold?

Take my advise FWIW (not too much), but I've zapped a few manifolds with what was in my MIG welder and they've held up fine till now. What I do is clean up the crack, drill a hole in each end, and grind it open slightly with a dremel cutoff wheel so that the weld can get down inside it. Heat it up with a propane torch for like 10 minutes, get the whole thing nice and hot, then weld up the crack once, then pass over it a second time. This has seemed to do the trick, I'm sure nickel wire is readily available, just check your local welding supply.

Others have had some good suggestions too, but no reason you can't weld cast iron with your MIG.
