Listers,
I've been posting about a cold start/rough idle
condition I've been having with my 90 200tq MC2 for a
few weeks with little or no responce so I figured I'd
take it apon myself to do more testing and this is
what I've found.
At first the car would start with me pressing on the
accelerator for a few minutes till the car warmed up
and then it would idle fine on it's own, so I changed
the CSV with very little difference.
So next I checked the warmup regulator and found it
working fine,
I suspected the two single wire temp sensors one is
for the ECU function and the other is for ISV even
though they are new as of last March I switch them
both for new ones still no change. So then I checked
the wires from the sensors to the ECU connector and
all was fine.
So I checked the ISV controll unit and did some
meeter checks and found everything to work fine.
Now for the weired part after sitting in the driver
seat and staring into space wondering whats going on I
tried to start the car and this time it wouldn't start
so I cranked it for 5 seconds to read the codes and
got 2111 sender for engine speed how do I R&R this or
check the gap? Looks like there's no room at all.
Would I come up from under the car to check the gap?
Any help would be great I'm hoping this was cause of
my cold start/rough running thing so the Audi Gods
would leave me alone for a while.
One more thing I called the dealer for a price on
that and my friendly price is $90 is this a dealer
only or is it available through other venders?
Thanks
Ron
