Might as well replace it while you're in there.  Don't know about the
gaskets.  When I was replacing my clutch I had a heck of a time trying
to get the pilot bearing out.  Tried the "hydralic" method first, then
tried a slide hammer and finaly bought the audi tool and had it out in
45 seconds.  Make sure you replace the release bearing and the release
bearing guide.  The original guide was plastic and the new ones are metal.

Hack saw?  Try and replace them with stainless if you can.  Also when
you are dropping the transmission be careful about bashing the diff lock
actuator around.  I broke one of the nipples off and was able to fix it
with epoxy.  Then I broke it again when I was putting it back in.  Still
need to fix it.
