You answer your own question, according to you it's not that bad, company
men think alike I guess:

>As far as it being a recall issue....well, I'm not sold on that either.

So, I guess it's not that big an issue evidently, not big enough to hold
back the sale of hundreds of thousands of units.

Exactly what difference does this make? I own enough Audi's with
"potential issues" that should have been addressed long ago by the
manufacturer, but are repaired on my dime and time. Not really that bad
a thing though, as the perception among the general public that an out of
warranty Audi is a black hole money pit makes for some wonderful bargains
on overall great cars. For the price of a comparable Mercyless Benz or
BMW you can get 2 V8Q's, a 200TQA and a 5KS to get around in when you're
working on the other three.

I think my opinions were stated as such, and your post might garner more
respect if you weren't towing the company line so heavily.

Tow that company line. As you said "I wonder if either of you actually
know the cause of the problem within the coilpack itself, or the
correction? I do." , well then, why isn't Audi/VW replacing ALL of them,
and not just the ones that fail under warranty? If they do give in and
change them all, you can bet it will be because of bad press and
projected costs of same to the bottom line, and not because it's the
right thing to do.

I love the cars, but I can't say the same for the company or my past
experiences dealing with them.
