Hello to the 91 200q20v avant (was farewell)

Speaking of VAG-COM, I guess I'll be needing that and a laptop sometime
in the future. I was just perusing through the Bentley on the car and
it was not clear - can I run onboard diagnostics like I did on the MC-
1, by inserting the fuse in fuel-pump relay.  Bently was not clear -
said "California cars only".  It would be nice to have the flashing
diagnostics codes without having to hookup and external analyzer.

I hope that with all of the upkeep you did I won't be needing to do
this any time soon, but I like to be prepared.

I will re-read all of SJM on this car as probably did not sink in
before I actually owned a 200 20v tq, and I'm sure I missed a lot.
