T-stat housing

This car will drive me crazy.  Maybe it is a way to attract my attention to it?
Anyway, the t-stat housing is leaking now, less than a year after I installed a new t-stat and gasket (it looked good at this period).
My Audi stealer wants 90 CAN$ for a new unit. I know our money is not worth much, but 90$ ????
Obviously, no jobber part is directly equivalent to this early unit.

Q1- Which housing form what car would fit? I don't care if there is a threaded hole for a sensor (mine don't) I will plug it for now and maybe install a gauge later.

Any less expensive alternative you are aware of?
