stupid human tricks

I remember as a kid taking a lemon from the backyard tree and putting it into a steel can filled with gasoline. The idea was to light the gas and shoot the lemon out. Incredibly (for me at the time) I couldn't get the gas lit. I was probably lucky in that case.

One thing I did think was cool for a while was taking corn starch baby powder and lighting clouds of that. Or heating up a flint red-hot and throwing it on the ground.

One of my least favorite memories was burning a plastic straw with a lighter and having the hot plastic drip onto my cuticle on my finger and having it stick and harden.

Or the time I was walking a fiberglass shell off the bed of my truck, and I had my thumbs in the jamb of the open rear window, which closed completely and trapped my thumbs. Being alone, I had to stand on one leg (with the shell on my back), and kick open the window to get my thumbs out. I lost a thumbnail on that one, but it's a great memory.

Later,

Ken
