Anti-theft alarm

I have a 1989 200 turbo quatro.  The anti-theft alarm arms correctly when I=
 lock the car, but when I unlock the car the alarm sounds.  Very annoying, =
I have had to resort to leaving the car unlocked until I can get this probl=
em fixed.  Has anyone had this problem??
