Outside mirror removal, B3-B4

Folks, patient is a 1995 90Q. According to dealer parts-guy, B3 is the
same, many other models similar. My question is: How does a person get
the mirror glass out of the mirror housing? I have purchased new glass
assys for both sides (ouch, $$), so if damage is done to the old ones
upon removal, it will not be too much of a problem.

Here is what I have learned so far: Put protective tape on plastic rim of
mirror housing. Pry mirror out from bottom. Some tabs may break off of
mirror assembly.

I guess this is OK. I was just hoping for more. No special tabs to push?
No magic access hole? I picture me breaking the tilt motor/mechanism due
to the prying. Anybody have some more specific experience with this?
