Some of the other guys covered most of the questions, so I'll offer counsel
on the last part.

I was there last Sat, looked like a nice little spot, plenty of German Iron
around. Maybe worth a tour if you want to have a backup plan to DIY. Maybe
less than an hour from you? They were putting in a Eurovan 5cyl trans, so
they'll likely try anything once!

...where I dropped off an S4 for engine work, large secured lot, showroom,
and obviously capable of larger more complicated work. Likely more expensive
than option #1.
