Where are (cruise control) electronics located

It is located in the center console below the radio.

Check out Bentley Section 27.30 Cruise control system for trouble
shooting.  I would think the control unit least likely to be defective -
 I have some if it is.

I would check out the cruise switch and/or Hall sensor located in the
intrument cluster.

Finally out of the house and on to my first year of college. I am
sorting out all the little problems on my 87 4ksq for the trip out
there. I will need cruise control because it is a 3 and a half day trip
at a medium pace. Where is the control unit located I have already
replaced the pump thing. I have a parts car so a new control stalk is
no prob. Also i would like to get the drivers side seat heater working
I have changed the switch is there a relay in the dash some where or is
the heater core just probably toast. . . .
