hey Kent:
I know what you mean BTDT.
One day as i was boringly cruising up and down the local Autozone store
aimlessly
i decided to check the oil filter section, ( now i know how a mann filter
looks on the inside)
looked for the catalog, and in there seached for my car 1986 Audi 4000
quattro, looked at:
1. the "Purolator" sounds like the name of something rather than an oil
filter, and the inside amazingly was empty i could see all the way down.
(now that cant be good ;-) )
2. The"Purolator One", sound familiar anyone, - claiming to be a
"performance filter" was with the same result ( really good performace i can
see the exact spot where it would blow, and the one stood for only use once,
hehehehe)
3. the STP same result (aka Something Towards Purolator)
4. the FRAM, and please do be surprized ( put me in on Friday Ruined Around
Monday, lol)
up until now all the part numbers were basically the same to the exception
of begining or ending letter/digit. And these are all american companies,
but there was one left, Called MOBIL ONE. Now european products have never
disapointed me (until i realized that only someone that has owned an audi 4k
or 5k with the outreach door handles, doesnt stand by the door of another
like car, and say "your door handle is not working, its late i think i'm
delirious)
5. Mobil One, anxiously open the box looked inside and the light bulb went
off, i have found an emergency suitable replacement.
all to say, know your cars and its parts, have a safe weekend and enjoy the
subtle pleasure of driving an audi and assimilating as many as possible to
the inside of the RINGS.
Have fun, sorry for being so long, but i was bored, I hope you laughed,
chuckled or smiled if so i reached my purposed
