ignition switch

I've been ignoring this thread, and it has bitten me in the ass. The
ignition switch in my '88 90Q died tonight at the bank ATM. The car shut
off fine, but would not restart. Seems to be stuck in the on/run position.
Bump started it on my own, and would not shut off when I got it home. Had
to pull the fuel pump relay to get it die, then I disconnected the battery
to keep it from draining. The key seems to cycle fine with the exception of
the springy feeling between run and start, which is totaly gone. But there
is no change in electical mode at any key position. Any help would be much
appricated, including Bently pages I should look at, parts suppliers, and
above all a BTDT.
Thanks in Advace,
Andy '88 90Q
