Well last night the car caught fire and pretty much burnt to the ground. Wh=
at really makes me mad about it is that I usually have a fire extinguisher =
in the car, but for an unknown reason one of my friends had taken it out a =
few days ago, unbeknownst to me. Better yet there was a fire department wit=
hin sight, but road contruction prevented them from getting to me until abo=
ut a half hour later. Seems to have been a fuel fire that started most like=
ly with a possibly leaky fuel pressure regulator. My own stupid fault too, =
I had thought there was something up with the reg (which was mounted direct=
ly above the turbo hot housing), but never caught it while it was leaking s=
o I ignored it. Car is a writeoff, nearly everything in the engine bay is g=
one, and the passenger side footwell went up too so the dash is gone. Lucki=
ly my EFI computer which was mounted right next to the factory ECU is someh=
ow untouched so I can reuse it in the next car.

I found another '86 5000CSTQ in Lincoln Nebraska thats looks pretty nice. A=
ny listers in that area that would take a look at it pretty please? I'm in =
south Florida so my biggest concern is if its ok to drive home from where i=
t is. Car looks great in pictures (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS=
API.dll?ViewItem&item=3D2417588833&category=3D6055), but the engine bay loo=
ks rather dirty so I'm wondering how well it was maintained.

Mixed blessing you could say, as mine needed paint and it was my learning c=
urve on working on these cars so alot of things could have been done better=
. Definately going to find a better spot for the fuel pressure regs this ti=
me, and you better bet that the new one will have a fire extinguisher in it=
 too!
