A/C Removal 86 4kcsq

I am new to the list so please bear with me, especially if I sound like a moron.
Changing my fan belts on my 4k found out that the adjustment bolt for the A/C compressor belt (the 6mm allen head that sits behind the compressor) is WAY too stripped to get it loose.  My compressor is leaking as well and I never use A/C because it heats up the engine way to fast.
Anyway, I am really considering removing the whole thing (compressor, condensor, etc.) and wanted to know if there is anything I should look out for or any tips on making it easier.  I would prefer not to dump a whole bunch of freon on the garage floor.
