NG fuel mixture

i am getting a set of CPA plugs to build the tester harness looks easy enough from huw's site.

ok i was fiddling with the mixture today and clockwise increase idle and makes my gas smell less rich, CCW makes the idle slow, rough and makes exhaust smell very rich.

on huw's site the directions is the opposite, clockwise is rich, CCW is lean.

just wondering if this is strange or older engines is different from NG CIS.
