I started reading this emailing list a little late, but late is better
than never.

I need to replace my ac drier, and low compressor line for my engine
swap.

After reading some stuff I am slightly worried. I need to read up on
bently but some suggestions would be appreciative.

It is illegal to vent into the atmosphere.  The fines for this are
incredible. To do it legally requires you have a certified R12 recovery
canister.

You may want to call an AC specialist who has the equipment.  They
might not charge too much if the R12 in the system is good.  They can
then recharge the repaired system with the stuff they recovered.
