Yeah, but it's either recycled, or between U$500-U$700 for a 30 pound
tank and around $20 for a 12oz can.  From speaking to local suppliers,
the market for the "leftover"  R12 is mostly to bodyshops who don't want
to deal with converting (and the liability it entails) when they do
collision repairs where AC recharge is needed.  Stuff is just too
expensive vs conversion.

Once the current US stock is gone, supposedly that's it.  But since there
are plenty of other countries out there where the stuff is still
available,  there's a steady flow of illegal R12 coming mostly from the
US's southern neighbor.  Unless you can verify the stuff is old stock,
it's not worth considering, lots of it is contaminated with who knows
what, or "close enough" blends, not to mention the legal complications.
