I'm pretty sure that this reasoning cost me a tranny in my 300ZX, which
calls for straight GL-4. Straight GL-4 is available from your local NAPA
dealer.  GL-5 has an additive that eats the brass synchro rings in trannys
that call for GL-4 so I don't really see how one formulation can be good
for both.
