clutch engagement racket

Hey,

I recently acquired an 86 4Kcsq, however there seems to be a problem with
the clutch. I have to have the car off in order for me to engage the car in
first, after that it shifts kinda rough, but it does shift. Also, while the
clutch is being engaged a belt-like squeal comes from engine compartment,
it's exact location is unknown. The reservoir is topped off and there isn't
any discharge from the clutch master cylinder. I was going to try and bleed
the clutch today and flush the tranny, but I figured I would get you all's
expertise first. hank you ahead of time.
