msd ignition conversion how to

Has anyone put in an MSD 5 or 6? I am trying to figure out if it will
work with the stock 1985 4000kq distributor. I think it will but am not
clear on the wiring. My goal would be to bypass the ECU completely for
the spark and switch to a Megasquirt system in the future.
