944 / V8 diff in CGT?

Not entirely true, one of the V8 torsen's bearing shafts must be machined to accept the coupe's smaller bearing. This may or may not weaken the diff, as the one I had appeared to be heat treated.

4. The rear differential from a V8 works, as long as you use a V8 pair of half
  shafts with the outer tip machined to fit the CGT outer CV. You need to
  shorten it and machine the splines. This is actually my plan B. If the Phantom
  Grip works, that's great! If not, I have a V8 rear clip that I'm going to try
  this cut-and-paste.
