If my memory serves me correctly, my 1988 80 quattro (no heated seats or
leather interior, no autocheck computer, no auxillary gauges) weighs about
2850 pounds stock. I think the way it is currently set up with all of the
ac components removed, but a mc-2 turbo engine added I am probably around
2850 pounds still, the ac stuff seemed really heavy! I could take it and
have it weighed if you are interested.
Also, a 90 based coupe is in the 3350-3450 lb range. The last time I drove
the car down to Andersons shop, Keith mentioned that I had the "light" 80
quattro, early build with very few options, and the stamped control arms at
all 4 corners.
With the chipped turbo engine, and the 4.11 gears it is pretty fun around
town, but not long legged like my 5ktq on the highway.

Great thought, but I'll bet the 80/90 weighs closer to 3000 lbs.
Each model seems to have gotten heavier.
87 4000QS ~2750lbs
(The anderson brothers sold a 5TQS stripped and race ready for ~2700 lbs.
80/90 ?
A4 ~3200

Lets see here, t=
he 3100lb 5k would run a 13.8 in the 1/4, 0-60 in 5.5-6 seconds, then the 2
=
500lb 80 would just have to be a little tire eating rocket ship
