Its rarely if ever the BEST choice. Production is a tradeoff between
engineering, and the bean counters (among other things). Ask any real
engineer.
AMG wasn't always a part of MB - does that mean you wouldn't buy one?
There are many tuners who take a MB and turn it into a much finer
machine - Brabus is a fine example.

That's like saying you wouldn't want an RS2 because Porsche put it
together instead of Audi...
