Haydn Taylor Dave...Scott Great posts, and thanks for the advice. the rule
books was my next step. I am from the UK and have played with this sort of
thing a lot back there, as well as building vehicles for the film industry in
Australia. My initial problem here is knowing where to look for the rule
books, then once i have them, knowing where to get what I need. The bsae plan
at this point was to build a vehicle that will fit in a number of classes and
categories of 'play racing' to allow me maximum flexibility throughout the
year. IN my experience in the past I have found that with some carefull
thought and planning it is possible to make things like cages that have a base
superstructure that can have modular additions to make it fit different specs
(providing those specs dont call for fully welded and gusseted cages
throughout). So any pointers on where to find rule books / web resources for
the vast range of motorsports available to me in the North East would be
greatly appreciated. In the meantime I am planning on starting in about a
month by stripping everything non essential from the vehicle (as a general
rule in the UK the stock dash had to remain for most classes - so that will
remain for now)....everything else will get pulled and stored. Collection of
supplies is also beginning. Thanks again and I cant wait to get into this
project....I've been hankering a toy for a while now. Haydn >From: Dave Hord
