I've never tried it, but can't imagine you'll have much luck, even the 8.4:1 MC2 is really knock prone compared to the MC1, I can't imagine trying to tune a 10:1 motor. Swapping in the proper MC motor is not that much work, my intuition is that you'll be pulling a boosted 10:1 motor soon enough ;)
