Basically, your CD-R needs to be plugged into a USB-2 port, but your laptop
only has the USB-1 port. So it complained, as far as writing CD's. For other
functions, it will work fines.
So, if you could choose the slowest speed in writing CD's, such as 2x, it
might work. (not sure here).
Otherwies, best bet is to buy a USB2 PCMCIA card for around $50.
