Yup, its true, the later years, mostly for crash reasons so the drive shaft would kinda unravel and allow the drivetrain to crumple back, I suppose its lighter too. Now I've seen a real IMSA/GTO CF driveshaft, very pretty, in fact, I think I have a pic...
