85 4000 Quattro chinese box problem (AKA how to open a hood without a release)

Well, the only local place with an 85 hood wanted $400, and it wasn't white
(my color).

So, my brother and I found the hood on the side of the highway, pounded it
out and installed one hood pin on each corner.  Works fine for now, if
looking a little rough.  If anyone has a source for a white `85 4000 hood
for a reasonable price please let me know.
And thanks again for all the tips, it would have worked out perfect had I
thought ahead and had hood pins beforehand.
