Elliott,

Glad to hear you got it running.

I think the distributor is just outside its "window" with respect to
the ref. sensor.  I had this problem when I first started up miy MC-1
after rebuild.  There is not much margin for deviation, and yours may
have been close and started earlier, but now not syncing up do to
changes in tolerance, or perhaps the distributor moved a tad.

Find your TDC and setup everything like you are installing timing
belt.  Then verify distributor rotor is dead on the number one cylinder.

I think the hall window will be a little bit ahead of the rotor
position pointing to #1.

Hello all...

I'm having some trouble with starting my 4ktq with the MC engine (Mac-
11 ecu).  Previously the car always started on the first crank, however
now it will not start and gives me the code 2112.  The tach needle does
NOT bounce when I'm cranking.

By reading SJM's page and the archives, this should indicate that the
crank timing sensor (62 degrees BTDC), associated wiring is bad or that
the hall sensor is out of position.  So far, I've tried replaced the
sensors (twice) with spares and verified position of hall sensor at cyl
#1, TDC.  I'm still getting the code.  For giggles, I even tried
replacing the coil...no dice
Am I missing anything?  Do I suspect wiring at this point? I've checked
the sensors between the pins and gotten values of about 950 ohms, plus
tried to verify that the magnetic sensors produce the voltage
necessary...

I was planning on doing some continuity testing tonight on those plugs
since the boots on them were looking a bit shaggy.

Has anyone run into this code or problem before?  Any ideas?  Just got
thenew engine into it (oil pressure looks good this time during test
runs) and the suspension, so I'd like to drive it.
