Before guessing and replacing random parts... troubleshoot, troubleshoot,
troubleshoot. Start off by seeing the the car has anything to complain
about by pulling any fault codes that may be stored in the ECU. Check out
Scott's fantastic site for how to do this at:

Then poke through the rest of his site, he's got lots of good troubleshoot
and general info there.
