Dave,
I would go with the URQ's, specially if you're going to pay somebody else to
do it. They are a little more rigid.
I think that somone here in the list have them compared with pics.
I recently pounded real hard on them in a rally, I bent two rims in the
process (both on the right front), and they seem to be in good shape, with no
play or noise. I'm going to take the suspension out to check it in couple of
weeks. I can tell you then the actuall condition.
A mechanic familiar with this suspension can do it in one hour, but I doubt
you'll find someone to charge less than two hours of labor.
Since you have to remove the strut housing, it's a good idea to check ball
joints, tie rod ends and wheel bearings.
Carlos.

>As mentioned previously, it's time for new upper strut mounts for my 87.5
CGT. So, I have to decide which ones to get. UrQ Upper Strut Mounts, 857 412
323 B, are $30.60 each. Stock CGT mounts, 8A0 412 323 D, are $18.60. So the
UrQ mounts are almost twice the price. Anybody care to comment on whether they
are worth the aditional cost? I like the idea that they would SLIGHTLY lower
the front end, but if they die just as fast as the stock mounts, it isn't
worth the coist for 1/4-1/2" of lowering IMHO. Alsao, anybody care to comment
on the pricing I'm getting? Decent? Ripoff? Also, if you were a good and fair
mechanic, how many hours of labor would you charge me to change out the mounts
if I supplied the parts?
