in the hactches [gti's] ive owned ive had GREAT luck with a small, good
quality 4 channel amp [ads, ppi, etc] of moderate power [40-80 wpc] running
a set of good quality separates [boston, ads, jl, diamond..] mounted WELL in
doors or kickpanels and a 10 or 12" sub in a nice sealed enclosure in the
trunk [sparetire wells work great..]. get a decent cd headunit and youre in
car hifi heaven. the same formula works in a sedan if you run the rear
speakers off the back 1/2 of the head unit [really you should throw the
rear speakers out the window.. who listens to music with the back of their
head? =].
shop shrewdly on ebay and you can get the whole kit for probably 6-800$. not
cheap but then i spend enuff time in the car to justify it. 1 piece at a
time and youre there in no time.
in all my cars it really helps drown out the rattles... =)
