the 4 cyl FPR on a 5 cyl engine will produce a "red line" cut off at
about 5200 rpm (6500 * 4/5)
So it's not the problem. Although, I suspect a wacky FPR might pick
another RPM to cut off at...
Sometimes when I fire up my '89 90Q, it has a brick wall at about 3k
rpm. All I have to do is close all the windows and reboot, I mean, um,
turn off the ignition and restart (can be done on the fly, of course) to
make the problem go away, though.
Difficult to troubleshoot, since it happens rarely and when it does, I
usually want to keep going about my merry way...
