Convertible Decision

I'm in the market for an Audi convertible and would appreciate comments
anyone has on them.  I'm currently looking at a '94 and  a '97, both with
about 65k miles.  The 94 is about $5k cheaper so I'm leaning that way.  I'm a
bit concerned with the extra weight and therefore the performance sacrifice
with a convertible, but it will be a commuting and recreational car so
perhaps performance won't be a real problem.

I currently have a '95 Saab 900S (non-turbo) that I inheritied from my
daughter, in return for my '97 A4q.  The Saab is somewhat underpowered (150
hp), but more importantly doesn't have a very solid feel to it.
