5k brakes

Evening all,

I was asked to describe how many pumps it took to get to solid pedal after
running the engine.

Here are the results of numerous tests:

- no engine, stood on the pedal for 5 minutes, no fade at all, rock solid
about 25% from the top

- ran motor for 5 minutes, press brake, solid for about 30 seconds then
slowly fades to the floor, alarm comes on. Spongy brake feel and buzzerat
every press. Alarm goes off 10 seconds after letting off the brake.

- disconnected the two fluid conectors and still get alarm.

- turn off motor, solid brake on first press. Pushing REALLY hard and can
feel pressure pushing back on the pedal, feels wierd :-P

- turn motor on again, normal braking seems fine, to the floor pressure,
again brake fade.

Anything else I can try? Any conclusions?

On another topic, I have also an irratic idle, since the talk was about the
isv, I swapped a spare one in, after spraying it with carb cleaner and
drying. Now, I have a solid idle at 2000rpm. Disconnected the harness and
still ran at 2000. I guess both isv's are toast huh?

Thanks
David Templeton
