I had one IR transmitter/key that worked, and one that didn't.
Continuing to fuss with the dead one, I finally noticed that the
flexible contact pad (on the printed circuit board) for the switch
seemed to be off on one side (by about 1/32nd of an inch). The contact
pad is held in place by an adhesive clear plastic sheet. I used a
jeweler's screwdriver to manuever the contact pad back into position
without disturbing the clear plastic (much). Viola! I now see an IR
flash... This saved me over 100 bucks...
Applicability: 92-94 V8, 100/A6, S4
If someone wanted to spit this over to whomever is doing technical stuff
at S4/S6.org they would probably appreciate it...
