I am planning on making some one-off carbon fiber bits (for looks not weigh=
t) for my 5ktq, but with the 5k performance talk recently I was wondering i=
f I were to make moulds would be any interest. On my street car I was going=
to replace the leather on the door panels with carbon, but if others are i=
nterested I can make whole door panels (and modernize the look of them). I =
was also thinking about the trim that goes arround the control console (whe=
re the radio, a/c controlls, and center a/c vents are). Under the hood I wa=
s thinking about the timing belt cover, and possibly some other small bits.=
Also now that I've decided to strip and lighten my wrecked 5ktq for club u=
se I will most likely end up making some performance/weight (the street car=
stuff is for looks only, but would be light anyway) oriented parts. Has an=
ybody done anything like this before? Any interest? If I get a couple repli=
es then I'll make a plug for one of the door panels and let you know how it=
turns out, otherwise I'm just going to do mouldless one-offs. Any other id=
eas? I don't want to make any big parts like hoods or anything (maybe for t=
he club car some door skins), but I'm open to requests on little things.
