This ended up being the problem I had on my car... I found the old
engine breather hose had corroded so badly on the inside it clogged up
the other metal hose it was connected to with melted rubber, removing
the hose and looking at it was the only way I could tell...

It not really to difficult just time consuming cause its a tight
squeeze, removing the distributor cap helped access the clamps holding
some of it together. While you have the hoses off get the updated
breather hose if you haven't already. It's a PITA to put back on... I
spent all afternoon with it. Anywho.. to remove the pipe coming from
the air intake there is one 10mm nut you have to undo.... to the left of
that there is a small hose with a clamp going up behind the D in the
DOHC on the air intake manifold and then remove the 2 very large clamps
on the air intake hoses going to the throttle body above the air filter
box... (be careful about the small hose behind the D since it was
corroded on mine, I had to use duct tape to fix it for now.. ) note how
it is routed behind the intake and remove... Inspect the hose from the
inside and see what is going on in there.. mine was plugged completely!
I had to use a coat hanger and carb. cleaner to scrub it all out. Also
check to see where the hose attaches to the engine is clear...

To put it back in it was easier to route the metal hose from the intake
with the short hose from the updated "breather hose kit" pre-attached on
the end... then attach the new breather hose with the other wide hose
attached to it in advance.. then attach the breather hose to the block,
clamp down the wide part of the hose then the thin part.. then attach
the 10mm nut back in place... then attach the air intake portion going
into the throttle body then the small hose behind the "D" (don't forget
to put your distributor cab back on!)

Hope that will solve your problem!! If you find it easier any way else
be sure to let me and everyone else know!

Ciao!
David
