B4 90 gas pedal problem

The entire pedal is changed- it's easy to do, you disconnect the
cable and pull some clips, and out it comes.  The new pedal, if you
choose to get one, will come minus a large hunk of iron that goes in
the pedal; to get it out, hold the entire pedal assembly and whack it
with a hammer a few times; the bar will pop right out(physics at work
:)

As Andrew mentioned, there's also a repair method involving a large
screw and a hole drilled through both halves of the pedal.
