no air thru dash vents?

Dash vents don't supply blower air if you're in "auto" setting, I don't
believe.  At least they don't on my 200q20v.  Only "bilevel" and "econ"
send air to the dash vents.  Have you also made sure to reconnect the air
plumbing inside the car after reinstalling the heater core box?
