no air thru dash vents?

I suspect the coincidence of working in the area and the failure means
there is a vacuum line or two leaking or inverted.  If all vacuum lines
check out, air out the defrost only is the default mode for a defective
programmer.

There should be many a helpful post in the archives on how to check the
programmer operation.  If you have a Might Vac hand pump, you can check
the lines by disconnecting the vacuum port at the programmer.  The
Bentley also has an extensive section on troubleshooting the Climate
Control System.
