That hole is for an Allen wrench.  You turn the piston clockwise while
pushing on it.  I forget the wrench size because the pistons on our 4KQ's
have rusted to the point a wrench won't fit.  I use water pump pliers to
turn the pistons while exerting some pressure with a large C-clamp.  You
have to be careful not to damage the rubber boots with the pliers.
