Could be, typically it will clean things if coolant is
getting in there. I guess a HG could blow in a way
that allows oil into the cyl, but doubtfull that much
is going to get in. You would definatly see water in
the oil and oil in the water if that's the case since
the water passages are between the cyl and oil
passages. I have a feeling it's just a turbo. I
abused the living piss out of my first MC engine and
it took a while for it's rings to go. (Lesson: don't
trust your gauges, if it doesn't sound right, it
probably isn't!) It would be pretty hard to duplicate
that with even a chipped factory setup.
