I can't explain why, but the same goes for my 1990 Audi 80 2.0E. It runs
fine on regular unleaded (95 RON) but on 98 RON premium it's about 10% (no
kidding!) more economic.
Maybe it's because you don't have to push it quite as hard to get the same
performance? The difference in performance when going to premium is quite
noticeable.
