90 side moldings

Are the side moldings (the rub strips on the doors) on B4s all the same? I ask because I ordered a molding for my driver's door, and it's different than the others on the car --  the ones already there are painted and smooth, while the one I ordered is neither painted nor completely smooth. I wouldn't be surprised if, when the car was repainted (poorly) by a previous owner, they painted the moldings as well. But it seems that the surface of the moldings is different.
